Grandparents and other relatives or friends who care for children whose own parents are unable to care for them are often referred to as “kinship” caregivers. The Child Welfare Information Gateway System has created a factsheet for kinship caregivers to provide resources that help these caregivers effectively navigate the child welfare system.
