COVID-19 Information & Resources

Sheltering in place may not be new for some of our caregivers, and neither is social isolation, but dealing with a pandemic has even the best of us scrambling for resources and information. We’ve pulled together some great resources to help you and your loved one keep up to date with information on COVID-19.

This document is live and will be updated as we learn more information or about new resources. Please check back often and let us know if there is a great resource you think should be on this list.

What is COVID-19

COVID-19 or coronavirus is a newly identified type of coronavirus that was first diagnosed in 2019, hence the -19 at the end of COVID. This virus has demonstrated how it is dissimilar to previous coronaviruses in that the symptoms are much worse than those of a mild cold or illness.  This is why we need to be careful with our vulnerable populations.

COVID-19 can be transmitted through respiratory droplets from person to person through such actions as a caught, sneeze, kiss, sharing of utensils, shaking of hands that had previously touched an infected person’s face, or being too close to an infected individual. At this time, we do know that symptoms can take up to 14 days to show up, which means an individual can be infected and spreading COVID-19 before they feel any signs of illness.

All information above was collected from the CDC’s website.  To learn more about COVID-19 on a national (CDC) or global (WHO) level, click here CDC or WHO
