IA^2 – International Association for Indigenous Aging

501(c)3 nonprofit focused on improving the health and well-being of American Indians, Alaska Natives and other indigenous people as they move through the aging spectrum. They have initiatives specifically targeting indigenous communities on various topics including brain health, dementia friends, wandering, caregiving, elder justice, and cancer prevention.

Idaho Commission on Aging (ICOA): Dementia skills, caregiving skills, and more.

The Idaho Commission on Aging offers education to all, targeted services to those who are at the highest risk, as well as help for those in crisis. The education they provide aims to equip older adults with the knowledge they need to keep them living in their communities as long as possible. They provide online module trainings on dementia skills, caregiver skills, healthy caregiving, and ending loneliness.

Alzheimer’s Association, Idaho

The Alzheimer’s Association provides supports for caregivers of persons living with Alzheimer’s. These include education (online videos or classes), support groups, and a 24 hour helpline.

Lewy Body Facebook Support Group

A Facebook group to share info, ask questions and give support to Lewy Body Dementia Patients and caregivers of people with Lewy Body Dementia (a specific type of dementia with some symptoms similar to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, but often including hallucinations and REM sleep disorder, among other symptoms).
