Caregiving for People with Dementia – Idaho Commission on Aging
This project focuses on enhancing the quality of life for persons with dementia and their caregivers. The project strengthens dementia capability for service providers, public, family caregivers, and education programs.
One Site for Seniors
OSFS Is a non-profit 501(C) 3, faith-based community service organization. OSFS offers the following services:
- Respite care: They have different options for respite. Call or visit them in Coeur d’ Alene to inquire about these services.
- Caregiver education: Powerful Tools for Caregiver classes and SAVY Caregiver training are available. Check their website or call for more information
- Support groups: Their Caregiver Support Group is currently meeting on the 2nd and the 4th Saturday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30. Call to reserve your spot!
IA^2 – International Association for Indigenous Aging
501(c)3 nonprofit focused on improving the health and well-being of American Indians, Alaska Natives and other indigenous people as they move through the aging spectrum. The Idaho Commission on Aging offers education to all, targeted services to those who are at the highest risk, as well as help for those in crisis. The education they provide aims to equip older adults with the knowledge they need to keep them living in their communities as long as possible. They provide online module trainings on dementia skills, caregiver skills, healthy caregiving, and ending loneliness.
Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness
The Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness works to improve the educational services that are provided to those who have a combination of vision and hearing impairments. They provide these services to people up to age 21. They achieve this goal by providing technical assistance and training to parents, service providers, and agencies.
