OSFS Is a non-profit 501(C) 3, faith-based community service organization. OSFS offers the following services:
- Respite care: They have different options for respite. Call or visit them in Coeur d’ Alene to inquire about these services.
- Caregiver education: Powerful Tools for Caregiver classes are available. Check their website or call for more information
- Support groups: Their Caregiver Support Group is currently meeting on the 2nd and the 4th Saturday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30. Call to reserve your spot!
AFTD – The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration
The goal of AFTD is to advance treatment research and better the lives of FTD sufferers. Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), frontotemporal dementia, and Pick’s disease are additional terms widely used to describe FTD. It stands for a range of neurological conditions brought on by the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain deteriorating.

- Dr. Carol Stephens, licensed psychologist who specializes in geriatrics leads and facilitates this group to provide education, therapy, and support to family caregivers. Dr. Stephens is certified to train by the Alzheimer’s Association. They have free respite care on-site so you can attend worry free. They also invite you to enjoy lunch on us! - Connection Club.
- The Connection Club is our program for clients with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. It is held on site at the Senior Connection and includes structured activities and crafts, lunch, music therapy, and fitness. It occurs on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11 am—3 pm. It is $80 per day and lunch is included. Call Mary @ 208-595-1898 for more information.
North Idaho Memory Clinic
Provides a team approach to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of memory problems. Each patient is seen and evaluated by a team of memory professionals, consisting of a physician, a neuropsychologist, and medical/clinical social workers. You will be offered tailored treatment, including educational resources to manage day-to-day living as independently as possible. We provide support, education and guidance to individuals and families whose loved ones are struggling with memory difficulty. They also offer a support group for family caregivers. IA^2 – International Association for Indigenous Aging
501(c)3 nonprofit focused on improving the health and well-being of American Indians, Alaska Natives and other indigenous people as they move through the aging spectrum. They have initiatives specifically targeting indigenous communities on various topics including brain health, dementia friends, wandering, caregiving, elder justice, and cancer prevention.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes help caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative.
Trualta
Trualta provides healthcare training for family caregivers. This training is provided through an interactive online program that is tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual situation.
LEARN Idaho
LEARN is an Idaho based non-profit organization with the purpose of providing free education to communities by the community. Free educational classes are provided for caregivers to learn in the areas of health, wealth, lifestyle, and caregiving.
