Vocational Rehab

Vocational Rehabilitation is the largest and oldest program funded under the Rehabilitation Act. It is the state-federal eligibility vocational rehabilitation system which provides comprehensive vocational services to individuals with disabilities.

Services:

  • Apply for jobs at IdahoWorks (state’s largest job database).
  • Contact a career counselor. Get custom job search support.
  • Chart a new career. Match your interests, skills and abilities with a job you enjoy.
  • Upgrade your skills. Find free or low-cost training, paid internships, apprenticeships, on-the-job training, GED programs and college classes.
  • Access veteran services. Apply for benefits you’ve earned as a veteran.
  • Attend job search workshops. Learn about resume writing, interviewing, networking, soft skills, applying for state jobs and more.
  • Find a Navigator. They offer in-person help with unemployment insurance and are available at several locations. Call your local office to see if they are available near you.
  • Use free resources. Access computers, internet, phones, fax, copiers, and printers in our resource rooms.
  • Verify your identity. Secure your account before collecting unemployment insurance.
  • Get help with housing, transportation, childcare, food, internet access, tuition, textbooks, school fees, identification, work equipment and more.

Idaho Legal Aid Services

Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc. assists low-income and senior (age 60 and older) Idahoans with civil legal issues. Their offices cannot assist with criminal matters. Statewide offices/services

Angel Wings Network

The Angel Wings Network supports cancer patients and families who have been touched with cancer in rural communities.
They aim to continue growing as an outreach location within rural communities of Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Their service area is within a 70-mile radius of Weiser, ID, which includes 17 rural communities. They strive to be a recognized name and place for cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, and their families to find hope, faith, and support. They also help educate the public and increase awareness of all types of cancer for support and representation.

About 30 nutrition advisors teach classes for adults and youth in 39 Idaho counties. Classes are taught at emergency food sites, food stamp offices, adult rehabilitation centers, public housing sites and schools with high numbers of free and reduced lunch participants.

Meals on Wheels Metro Boise
